Jamaica's beaches are legendary, and Montego Bay offers some of the best. Here are our top picks, from popular favorites to secret spots we share with our guests.
1. Doctor's Cave Beach
The most famous beach in MoBay, Doctor's Cave features crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand. The mineral-rich water was once believed to have curative powers. Entry fee required, but amenities include loungers, food, and drinks.
2. Cornwall Beach
Just steps from Doctor's Cave but less crowded. Same beautiful water, more local vibe. Great snorkeling right off the beach.
3. Walter Fletcher Beach (Aquasol)
Perfect for families with calm, shallow waters. The attached water park and go-kart track keep kids entertained all day.
4. Bloody Bay (Negril)
About 90 minutes from MoBay, but worth the trip. Seven miles of perfect white sand and the famous Rick's Café nearby for sunset cliff jumping.
5. Frenchman's Cove (Port Antonio)
A longer drive (2+ hours) but consistently rated one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. A river meets the sea here, creating a unique swimming experience.
6. Dead End Beach
A local secret near the airport. No facilities, but also no crowds. Perfect for a quick dip after arrival or before departure.
7. Burwood Beach
About 30 minutes east of MoBay in Trelawny. Popular with locals for weekend cookouts. Great jerk stands nearby.
8. Puerto Seco Beach
In Discovery Bay, about 45 minutes from MoBay. Well-maintained public beach with great facilities and a more local atmosphere.
9. Montego Bay Marine Park
Not technically a beach, but the snorkeling here is unmatched. Book a boat tour to explore the protected coral reefs.
10. Harmony Beach Park
A newer addition to MoBay's beach scene. Modern facilities, floating water park, and excellent food options. Great for families.
